What different breeds have you owned?

Growing up, my parents had beagles. After I moved out, I got a Chow/Shepherd mix and a Keeshond. They died within a year of each other and then we waited about a year and now have a Boxer. I'm in the same situation kind of. My parents took the best care of the dogs that they knew how (regular vet care) and the dogs both lived into their 20's but looking back, they didn't know a lot about dogs (no exercise, nobody paid a whole lot of attention to the dogs and cheap, cheap food... my mom said they're all the same!) so I learned an awful lot after I got my own dogs.
