Things on the airplane?

Can aerosol sun tan, bug spray, or shave gel cans be taken in ur regular baggage that ur checking in not carrying on with on the plane or no?? Thanks my mom keeps telling me she don't think so. We never traveled by air b4 so were new to this. Please no negative feedback. Thanks again
