French people do not like me, what should I do?

I am Austrian, born in Vienna but married a Frenchman and moved to France. My family is prominent in Austria, and well off, and so is my French husband. People say that I am good looking, and I know I have a nice, even temper. However, in France, I was a sad failure. My husband, who seemed to love me when we were engaged and married, prefers lock-making and hunting to me (my mother said it was because I lost all my charm and beauty, and it was my fault). Then my husband Louis and I had a child, a daughter, Marie-Thrse Charlotte, who I love dearly. But French people said I should have had a son (they are so misogynic here!) So later on, my husband and I had a son, Louis Joseph Xavier Franois. But French people said he was too puny and unhealthy. I had another son, Louis Charles, and French people said it was not my husband's child. I was simple and approachable, and renounced many long, unnecessary etiquette procedures, wore a simple robe la polonaise and got my portrait in it - I was too undignified. I donned an expensive elaborate dress and got another painting - I spent too much money on a dress, when the French economic situation was dire. I bought a little property in Saint-Cloud with my own money to leave to my children, the French were shocked that I had an independent house form my husband. I can not please them. They even invented a demeaning nickname for me, l'Autruchienne. Nothing I do is ever right, and I am so tired! What should I do?
